George West Storyfest has come and gone for the 22nd year. Once again, our community event was a resounding success!

The beautiful weather brought a tremendous crowd to Live Oak County and downtown George West to hear and see top-quality storytellers, musicians, living history re-enactors, and other entertainers throughout the day and evening. A crowd of 550-plus watched DeCee Cornish, Dennis Gaines, and Donna Ingham take top honors at the Texas State Liars’ Contest—definitely standing room only! The Ghost Stories in the Dobie/West Performing Arts Theatre also enjoyed a standing-room only crowd!

The people who came to Storyfest would not have been able to enjoy this quality event if it were not for the dedication and hard work of the Storyfest Board of Directors (Jim McGee, Flo Moore, Julie Kaase, Melaine Martin, Phillip Crawford, Thad Reagan, and Cindi Robinson); the Storyfest Volunteer Committee Chairpersons and their committees; the volunteers and workers; the City of George West; Live Oak County; the George West Chamber of Commerce; the non-profit groups; arts and crafts vendors; participants; and countless others. The many sponsors and community business supporters also played a vital role in ensuring Storyfest was another fun, quality, free event.

I extend my sincere thanks to everyone who helped make our event another success and to those who attended the 22nd Annual George West Storyfest!
