Suspected illegal immigrants on run near U.S. Highway 59

GOLIAD COUNTY – Texas Department of Public Safety and Goliad County Sheriff's Office officials searched Wednesday afternoon for suspected illegal immigrants near U.S. Highway 59, approximately six miles west of Goliad.

A Chevrolet Avalanche pickup was being pursued by a DPS Trooper when it drove through a fence in the eastbound lane and through a pasture.

Law officials were on horseback and utilizing a helicopter and search dogs to find the suspects.
