CORPUS CHRISTI – A big first inning rally by the Cherokees was way too much for the Lady Trojan varsity softball team to overcome on Tuesday night. The Cherokees ran away with a 15-0 four-inning victory.

The Cherokees crossed home plate eight times in the bottom of the first to set the stage for the 15-run game.

Four runs were added in the second and two more came across in the third inning for a 14-0 lead. The Lady Trojans failed to score and were held hitless in the contest. The T-M girls produced the lone run needed in the home-half of the fourth to earn the run-rule contest.

Theresa Amador and Rebecca De Los Santos shared the pitching duties for Beeville. The hot bats of the Cherokees blasted 17 hits on the night.

“We were not able to overcome the rough start. We sit at 1-5 in district,” said head coach Jose Flores.

The Beeville girls were again on the road on Thursday evening in Portland to tangle with the G-P Wildcats.
