Tigers, Tigerettes to compete at area track and field meet Wednesday

GOLIAD – The Goliad Tigers and Tigerettes will take a combined 23 athletes to Wednesday’s District 29-2A/30-2A area track and field meet at Converse Judson’s Rutledge Stadium.

The top three finishers in each event advance to the Region IV-2A meet at Rutledge Stadium on May 25 and 26.

Field events will start at 10 a.m. The 3,200-meter run finals will start at 10:30 a.m.

The running events will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The District 30-2A champion Tigers will have all three relay teams at the meet and eight athletes competing in a combined 14 individual events.

Tigers competing in individual events will be Colby Zamzow (long jump and 400), Carl Roy (long jump and high jump), Isaiah Dennis (triple jump), Dalton Sturm (high jump and 300 hurdles), Stephen Koehne (high jump and 110 hurdles), John Von Dohlen (3,200 and 1,600), Jake Schneider (800 and 1,600) and Trey Moya (300 hurdles).

The Tigerettes will have their 800 and 1,600 relay teams at the meet and 14 athletes competing in a combined 25 individual events.

Tigerettes competing in individual events will be Ashtin Zamzow (long jump, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles), Cortnee Priour (long jump, triple jump and 200), Michala Janssen (high jump and 400), Caitlin Cope (high jump and 300 hurdles), Marina Mendoza (discus and shot put), Jalissa Clemons (discus), Carlee Howard (pole vault and 100), Kayla Stock (pole vault), Andre DeLaGarza (3,200 and 1,600), Marla Reyna (3,200 and 1,600), Danielle Garza (800), Katy Salziger (100 hurdles and 300 hurdles), Alexius Perry (200) and Kendal Coles (400).
