He was born on April 21, 1948, in Beeville to Martin and Selda Schubert. He was a graduate of Skidmore-Tynan High School and served 12 years in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Salas of Las Vegas, Nev.; one grandson, Amador Salas; brother, Martin Schubert of Beaufort, S.C.; and one sister; Marena Evola of Seguin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Terry.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Red Barn Community Venue on Highway 123 in Seguin.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
