The A.C. Jones High School marching band can toot its own horn once again.

The Mighty Trojan band has once again received a Superior rating at the Music Region 14 UIL Marching Contest.

“We are very proud of their accomplishment,” said band director Chuck Knowlton. “This makes eight out of the last nine years that the band has made a first division at marching contest.”

The band was rated as first division by a panel of judges at the competition held in Alice on Saturday, Oct. 18.

This year’s show was a study of “Swing.” Beginning with “It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got That Swing” and ending with the musical mania of “Swing Machine.”

“The band had the crowd with them all the way,” Knowlton boasted.
