Every 10 years the government counts the number of people that live in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The count is called a census. The U.S. Census Bureau will mail or deliver a questionnaire to every household in February or March. The census data will be used to determine the number of representatives our state will have in Congress.

The information you give will be protected by the law. The questionnaire will only take about 10 minutes of your time. If you don’t turn in your census by April, a representative of the U.S. Census Bureau will knock on your door and request it.

Please remember to turn in your questionnaire.
