THREE RIVERS – Valero presented $200,000 to four children’s organizations Friday, Nov. 9, at the Gurwitz Center in Three Rivers.

The money is part of $9 million that Valero raised through employee and business partner sponsorships of the 2012 Valero Texas open and Benefit for Children Golf Classic in San Antonio.

“This is just one of several Valero locations that will proudly distribute funds to children’s charities throughout North American this year. These gifts enable our community agencies to continue their good work for the many children they serve,” said plant manager Harry Wright of the Three Rivers refinery.

Wright explained that a Selection Committee decided which agencies would receive the checks and how much. Members of the committee were Stacy Wilson, Woody Henderson, Joaquin Rodriguez and John Clark.

Stacie Farrell, HR director at the Valero Three Rivers refinery, announced the four area children’s agencies receiving checks:

The South Texas Children’s Home received a $22,500 check.

The Boys & Girls Club of Beeville received a $32,500 check.
