President Betty Kucera called the meeting to order and introduced Marcie Peterson, director of the Woodsboro sixth grade band. Peterson and the 32 Woodsboro band members entertained the retirees and their guests with a melody of Christmas music.
Following the concert, President Kucera called for reports from the committees. Minnie Tu Sutton reported that books were ready to be distributed to all third grade students in the county.
Gladys Knoth reminded the members to bring their volunteer hours and walk a Million Miles reports to the January meeting. Paul Moore reported that there was no good news as the legislative level for retirees.
The business meeting was adjourned, door prizes were awarded, games were enjoyed by the 16 members and three guests. Lunch was catered by Tuttle’s of Woodsboro.
The members will meet Thursday, Jan 12 at the Refugio City Hall Clubroom at 10 a.m. All school retires in the county are welcome.
Hostess will be Anita Barber, Paul Moore, and Gladys Knott. Guest speaker will be DPS trooper, Gerald Bryant.
