When you're wounded in war, you get medical attention from the Veteran's administration, and you continue receiving medical attention because you fought for your country. When you sell real estate you either pay the Capital Gains or transfer your equity to another property of equal or greater value. If you choose to take the capital gain, regardless of the time of year, you are obligated to pay that Capital Gain when escrow closes. If you had ever owned a piece of property and it increased in value, you would have to pay also (Or you could sit on the front porch of your trailer with a shot gun and dare the cops to come and get ya.) That's right angry guys, and your Capital Gain Tax will end up going to welfare, public education, global warming crotch washing programs, or even worse (for you), to President Obama's retirement fund.

I doubt you'll see Blackmon posting here in the future. As a matter of fact, it looks like most of his blogs disappeared. It probably didn't look good for someone on the board of directors of a non-partisan advocacy group to promote partisan propaganda.

I also think that the people in the area might have a different perspective about Blackmon's columns now that they are aware that he is a registered lobbyist.
