"That's the worst call a superintendent can ever get; glad it was not more serious for the kids and I feel bad for the others involved and their families," Rohrbach said.
A work van carrying six people rear-ended a Three Rivers school bus on Highway 72 traveling eastbound toward Three Rivers, near Quail Ridge Road, at approximately 7:20 this morning.
Out of the six people traveling in the van, there were three fatalities. One person was air-flighted and two others were transported by ambulance to a hospital.
Sheriff Larry Busby of Live Oak County said all 12 students on the school bus seemed to be uninjured. A second school bus arrived at the scene to transport the children the rest of the way to Three Rivers ISD, where they will be checked out by EMS.
An updated report will run as more information is released.
