What is your compass? Your goal? Your plan? Your driving force. The Bible tells us, ‘And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever,’ I John 2:17. Without Jesus we are without God and without hope in this lost world, Eph. 2:12. Without Jesus we are like a ship on a stormy sea without a compass.
As we enter this New Year let’s be sure to remember that our focus should be eternal. Here are five c’s to help. One, use a calendar to help you keep on track. The Bible tells us to be concerned about time, Gal. 4:4. Two, use the clock and plan your days to include Bible study and prayer. Remember, ‘…night cometh,’ John 9:4. Three, Jesus is our compass – everything we do should reflect his guidance. Four, use the computer. God doesn’t need a computer, but, if used properly, it can help us stay on track. Five, most importantly, remember, the cross is the essence of our everything, Matt. 6:33; Gal. 2:20; Col. 3:1-4; I Cor. 15:10
Jesus is our…Light, Shepherd, Apostle, Prophet, Captain, Cornerstone, Rock, Foundation, Way, Truth, Bread, Meat, Resurrection & Life, Teacher. Thus Jesus, our compass, points the way! Follow Him!
