4-L Ranch cowboys take first place at the Tilden Lions Club Rodeo

Tilden Lions Club rodeo highlights
The Tilden Lions Club held its 59th annual Labor Day Ranch Rodeo on Sept. 5-6. The 4-L Ranch cowboys from Cotulla/Uvalde took the first place prize. 2nd place was M&M Cattle Co. of Victoria. 3rd place was Y-Bar Ranch of Tilden. 4th place honors went to South Texas Cattle Marketing Group of Pearsall. 5th place went to Solomon Cattle Company of Falfurrias and Critter Gitters of League City came in 6th.

The 4-L Ranch cowboys from Cotulla/Uvalde showcased their rodeo skills and took the first place prize. The team consists of Cody Henry, Dustin Gonzales, Justin Dugosh, Travis Hurt and Chano Rios.

This year the Tilden Lions dedicated the rodeo to Julio Garcia, Jr. Garcia was a lifelong resident of Tilden and a member of the Lions Club. He lost his battle with leukemia in November.

Joe Yanas presented a memorial plaque to Garcia’s wife and said, “He had a big heart and a jovial personality which left a big impression that we will all miss.”

Taking second place at the rodeo was M&M Cattle Company of Victoria. The team members are Marty Rosenquest, Cody Rosenquest, Cody Cerney, James Fitzgerald and Cole Applegate.

Y-Bar Ranch of Tilden placed third. The team consists of Gilbert Gonzales, Rowdy Yow, Grant Snyder, Austin Patrick and B. J. Posas.

South Texas Cattle Marketing Group of Pearsall took fourth place. The team members are Danny Mitchell, Charles Zella, Justin Wallburg, Ty Berozoski and Tyson Boller.

Fifth place went to Solomon Cattle Company of Falfurrias. The team consists of Robert Silguero, Dillon Schultz, Leroy Montalvo, Tom Wright and Randy Silguero.

Critter Gitters of League City came in sixth. Shadd Reed, Tres Aguilar, Joey Vela, Dusty Stewart and Joey Gonzales are on the team.

This Labor Day event will be a qualifying rodeo for the Ranch Rodeo Finals during the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
