Students of George West ISD partnered with ALCO to support a food drive for the local Outreach during the Christmas season.

The high school drive was headed by the Business Professionals of America as a service project. The junior high Student Activity Committee organized their campus drive through advisory period. The elementary campus turned their drive into a competition between homerooms.

Campuses began about two weeks ago collecting canned food for the drive. On a very cold Wednesday afternoon, students loaded all the food up for delivery to ALCO. According to store manager, Jerry Rhodes, corporate ALCO will match the student donations which will also be donated to the Outreach. The students collected a total of 4614 items to support their community.
