In advance of the meeting, an evening meal was served, with homemade tortilla soup (January is National Soup Month!) and a wonderful assortment of desserts.
Joe Coquet presided over the meeting in President Judy Weber’s absence.
Meeting highlights included an announcement of new officers and an overview of upcoming Garden Club projects for the spring.
Many thanks go to new member, Lizzy Rogers, for setting up the Three Rivers Garden Club Facebook page.
(If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to log into Facebook and look for the Three Rivers Texas Garden Club.)
After the meeting, member, Barbara Elliott, gave an informative talk on how to plant Fall flower bulbs, along with a “how to” instructional handout.
She also discussed the history and care for Tulips. (When it comes to gardening, she really knows her stuff!)
The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 24, at the Our Savior Lutheran Church.
The program will revolve around how to prepare plants, specimens and create flower designs for the upcoming Live Oak County Fair in March.
Members and guests are always welcome to attend meetings.
