Steven A. Schmidt, 53, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice L. Schmidt and Dorothy Barganski Schmidt; daughter Jennifer Schmidt; and son, Chad Schmidt.

Survivors include his spouse, Gloria Ruiz Schmidt; a brother, Pete (Belinda) of Asherton; a sister, Nanette Musgrove of Franklin, Tenn.; children, Chance (Mistan) Schmidt of Victoria; Jacob (Nickie) Schmidt of Whitsett; Benjamin (Melissa) Hinojosa of Pipe Creek; Tina (Doug) Sowell of Katy; Jolene (Phillip) Zamzow and Londie (Krystal) Ruiz, both of Three Rivers; Jamie (Mark) Zuidmulder of Killeen; grandchildren, Paxton Schmidt, Lyla Schmidt, Corbin Zamzow, Zabeal Zuidmulder, Jagur Zuidmulder, Melia Hinjosa, Kelsie Ruiz, Aaron Sowell, and Tristin Sowell.

Visitation was held Friday, March 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in Three Rivers.

A graveside service was held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Whitsett on Saturday, March 9, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bevans Welder officiating.
