BEEVILLE – “I didn’t think I’d win it,” said Daniel (Big Dan) Adamez last week concerning his submitting the winning entry in a theme song contest for the new professional football team in Corpus Christi – The Fury.

Adamez works for KICKER 106 and is well known as a true Trojan fan, and he loves football, youth football middle school football, high school football and the NFL. You can now add the Ultimate Indoor Football League to the list.

The upstart league is spread throughout the south and southeast with teams in Missouri, Florida and Georgia in addition to the South Texas franchise in Corpus Christi. It’s arena style football that features passing, passing and then some more passing. Final scores are almost always high as is the excitement level.

Adamez has a couple of Trojan spirit songs in use by the youth football league as well as the varsity high school Trojans. The upbeat novelty rap songs are pure excitement and power, glorifying the Trojans. Adamez brought that to his Fury entry.

“I was at the game on April 12 at the American Bank Center when they were to announce the winner, and I heard a little bit of my song when they were warming up,” said Adamez.

He still wasn’t convinced he had won the contest, but when the players came out to be introduced at the start of the game, his song was again blaring over the loudspeakers, and it was played again after the Fury scored the first touchdown. He had the winner.

“It was real exciting to hear, and I had a blast doing it,” Adamez said.

Big Dan did all the production, including the sound track, writing, rapping the lyrics and recording the entire theme song.

The UIFL is a pretty good brand of football and the Fury fields a good team. Several players have NFL experience and are looking to catch a scout’s eye for a chance to get back up to the NFL. In winning the contest, Fury management awarded Adamez lifetime season tickets to see the Fury games. He’ll be on hand on May 11 when the Missouri Monsters pay a visit to the ABC arena to take on the Fury and it will be Adamez’s theme song that you’ll hear.

You can hear the song on a video on our website at mySouTex.com.
