Alberto C. Ruiz Sr. died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013.

Ruiz worked for H & K Construction Company for 38 years as a back hoe operator. After retirement, he volunteered his back hoe services to the community of Sinton.

He was preceded in death by parents, Jose and Mariana Ruiz; wife, Nicolasa Ruiz; sons, Albert Ruiz and Ruben Ruiz; grandson, James Albert Ruiz; sister, Concepcion DeLaGarza; and brother, Gregorio Ruiz Sr.

Survivors include eight daughters, Janie Vega, Josie Lopez, Mary Ann Aguirre, Gloria Rodriguez, Patty Owen, Beatrice Holder, Norma Treviño and Linda Castro; five sons, Joe Aguirre, Juan Aguirre, Felix Aguirre, Albert Jr. Ruiz and David Ruiz; 40 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 13, at 10 a.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton. A rosary was recited the same evening, at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial was in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton.
