American Bank’s employees contributed $593 to Goliad ISD’s Project Graduation with the reward of wearing jeans on March 8.

The “American Bank Wears Jeans For a Cause” program is designed to raise awareness and money for various non-profit groups. Each month, American Bank highlights a non-profit group, and if employees choose to make a donation towards the organization, they may wear jeans on the designated “American Bank Wears Jeans For a Cause Day.” Those donating wear a special sticker to recognize their participation.

American Bank was founded in 1970 and is the Corpus Christi area’s largest locally-owned and independent financial institution, with assets totaling over $.11 billion as of Dec. 31, 2012. The bank has 13 branches: six in Corpus Christi; one each in Port Aransas, Rockport, Goliad, and Victoria; and three in Austin. It also operates a network of 22 ATMs.

In addition, the bank offers a full range of mortgage lending services and trust and asset management services. Insurance services are available through the American Financial Insurance Services affiliate Borden Insurance. A full range of non-bank investment services is also available through American Investment Services, a division of Herndon Plant Oakley Ltd., member FINRA/SIPC.
