BEEVILLE – Bee Development Authority board members appointed former District Attorney Martha Warner as the authority’s new attorney.

Warner did not run for re-election for the district attorney’s job in 2012, citing health concerns.

The position was announced following the BDA board meeting on July 11.

She replaces attorney George P. “Trace” Morrill, III.

Morrill had served as the authority’s lawyer since attorney Tom Beasley resigned.

Morrill resigned the position after being elected to the City Council in May.

He also resigned his position on the Beeville Water Supply District’s board of directors.

That vacancy was filled by geologist Kenneth Elsbury.
