Centra training to be offered Dec. 6

There will be live online Centra training on from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6.

Those planning to apply for the 4-H Opportunity Scholarship should log into this training. Resources and scholarship training login information (click on link at the top of page) can be found on the Texas 4-H website at http://texas4-h.tamu.edu/scholarships#opportunity. Pecans, peanuts ready

Fair entries taken

It’s time to register online for the 2013 Goliad County Fair.

Log on to https://goliad.fairmanager.com. Instructions are listed on the opening page. Call the Goliad County Extension Office for more information.

Workdays scheduled

The following workdays have been scheduled for the Goliad County Fair Association: Jan. 26, Feb. 2 and 23, and March 2 and 9.

Livestock judges needed

Those interested in judging livestock can call 361-564-8184 to get more information.

Photo contest this month

The next category for the monthly photo contest will be “Food.”  This category is a still-life photo aimed at producing attractive photos of food for use in such items as advertisements, packaging, menus, cookbooks, etc. 

Examples include cakes/pies, fruits, Easter eggs, place settings, Thanksgiving dinner, ingredients, etc. (no alcoholic beverages). The 8x10 photos must have been taken within the last two months. Submit photos to the Extension Office by 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10.  

Rifle Project to start

Those interested in the Rifle Project can contact Nicole Friedrichs at 645-4865.

There will be a mandatory safety meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Julie Wimberly Memorial Homemaking Building.
