Christian is an alumnus of the Jr. NYLC in Washington, D.C. and will be an eighth grader at Refugio Junior High School this fall.
The Congressional Youth Leadership Council, made up of members of the U.S. Congress, sponsors the annual event. This program was created to identify and encourage young leaders throughout the nation to develop their leadership potential by providing workshops and conferences to reinforce the ideals of effective leadership.
Student leaders from around the state will be in attendance and students will develop techniques for team building, effective decision making as well as conflict management and the opportunity to polish communication skills.
Christian is also an honor student at RISD where he has received a Commended Performance on the TAKS state exam in every subject. He has been a member of the Duke University Talent Identification program since the fourth grade and recently received a Certificate of Merit from Duke University for completing the ACT College Entrance Exam as a seventh grader.
Christian participates in football, basketball, track, band and UIL. He also is a member of the Mission 4-H Club.
