Cloessner finishes 10th at Class 2A state tourney

SAN MARCOS – Goliad’s Amanda Cloessner finished 10th at the Region IV-2A tournament April 15 and 16 at Quail Creek Country Club.

Cloessner shot a pair of 97’s to finish with a two-day 194.

The Tigerettes placed fifth overall with scores of 421 and 448 for a two-day 869.

Also leading the Tigerettes were Baily Bowen (99-104–203), Kendra Webel (101-124–225), Megan Hilscher (115-123–238) and Emily Speed (138-149–287).

The Goliad boys finished 13th in the 17-team field.

Leading the way for the Tigers were Charles Wright (91-85–176), Chris Gutierrez (100-89–189), Dalton Sturm (101-96–197), Colby Zamzow (110-100–210) and Colby Berger (115-113–228).

Ingram Tom Moore won the girls team title with a 769.

East Bernard won the boys title with a 703.

The Class 2A state tournament is May 2-3 in Austin at Roy Kizer Golf Course.
