Coleto Creek Park, in partnership with the Victoria Photography Club, will hold its second annual basic photography class March 9.

The class, which will focus on nature photography, will be held at the Coleto Creek Park, located midway between Victoria and Goliad off of U.S. Highway 59. Participants must pay the normal $9/vehicle entry fee into the park, but there will be no registration fee for the class.

The class will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and students will need to bring their own lunch and camera equipment

Participants must preregister for the class, which has a limit of 25 students. Call the park at 361-575-6366 or email to register.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for amateur and beginning photographers to learn how to sharpen their photography skills,” GBRA Chief Ranger Wilfred Korth said.

The class will be taught by Jim Feig, a member of the Victoria Photography Club. Techniques for shooting good pictures, exposure times, composition, close-ups, and shooting flowers and birds will be taught.

All participants will get a chance to test their new skills out in the park and then participate in a critique of their work.

For more information, call the Coleto Creek Park at 361-575-6366.
