HOUSTON – ConocoPhillips announced a contribution of $20,000 to the Karnes Community Health Center in Karnes City to support primary medical, dental and behavioral health services. ConocoPhillips has been a presence in Karnes County since 2006 as part of its operations in the Eagle Ford shale in South Texas.

“ConocoPhillips’ commitment to health and safety is a significant business consideration in the communities where we operate,” stated Helene Harding, general manager of ConocoPhillips’ Gulf Coast Business Unit.  “We are delighted to be able to support quality health care services in Karnes County.”

According to Monty Small, CEO of Atascosa Health Center, Inc., the parent company of the Karnes Center, the donation will be used to purchase electrocardiogram equipment, increase immunization services for children and adults, upgrade security and start drafting plans to build a new, larger clinical facility. “We want to be the primary, one-stop-shop health care delivery service for everyone in this area,” he said. “ConocoPhillips has shown that it cares for the community and wants to give back, and the company’s generosity is truly appreciated.”
