BEEVILLE — Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers is hosting a special bicycle safety course, rodeo and equipment identification event at the Walmart Supercenter parking lot Saturday.

Representatives from the Crime Stoppers organization will be accompanied by officers from the Beeville Police Department, deputies from the Bee County Sheriffs Office and troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Judy Ranalli, a Crime Stoppers executive board member, said the event will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until noon.

“We are all working together to make our community a little safer,” Ranalli said.

Certificates will be awarded to all who participate in the event, and prizes will be presented to first, second and third place winners.

BPD officers will offer free engraving on all personal equipment, including bikes, computers, wagons, scooters, skateboards, tools and other items.

To help locate those marked items in the event they are lost or stolen, the department will maintain a record of all the identification numbers.
