She was born to Dorothy E. (Furguson) Charleston and Campbelle Weldon Charleston on Sept. 6, 1933 in Canton, Ohio. Donna served in the US Air Force from 1952-1955. While serving, she met and married her husband. Donna also served her country for over 20 years as a civilian employee of the Naval Air Training Supply Station in Corpus Christi. She raised her family and made her home in Corpus Christi for over 40 years.
Survivors include her son, Ben F. Kaczmarek Jr. and his wife Rebecca Ward of Houston; daughter, Rita L. Woolard and her husband John of Goldsboro, NC; daughter, Katje K. Kaczmarek of Sammamish, WA; brother, Allen L. Charleston and his wife Myra; brother, George L. Charleston; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces, aunts and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Campbelle Weldon Charleston Jr., and her husband Benjamin Franklin Kaczmarek.
Visitation was held at Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City on Saturday, Nov. 3. Funeral Mass was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Immaculate Conception of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Panna Maria. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Panna Maria.
