Erasmo "Razz" Gonzalez, age 79, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013.

He was born on March 27, 1934 in New Gulf to the Luciano and Lenora Gonzales.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eva Gonzalez; his children, Christy Vela, Anthony Gonzalez, Nora Cavazos, Don Lee Gonzalez, Kori Gonzalez, and Anna Gonzalez; his brother, Leonel Gonzales; and his sisters, Irene Rodriguez, Celia Puente, Mary Jane Samora, Evangelina Garcia and Edolina Peuttus. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild who all called him "Po."

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Minnie Valdez, Lydia Canchola and Blanch Rangel; and his brothers, Hilario Gonzales, Guillermo Gonzales and Miguel Gonzalez

When Erasmo walked in a room with his smile, the room instantly lit up. He was known as "The Tiger Woods" of Goliad because of his love for golf. When not playing golf, he enjoyed spending time with family and his grandchildren. He touched so many hearts with his stories and most of all his heartfelt poems.

Pallbearers include Robbie Camacho, Benito Moya, Davey Cardosa, Danny Samora, Larry Canchola, Art Rios and Larry Dean Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be golf buddies Tony Gonzales, Adolpho Robles, Chad Scheindler and Hernan Jaso.

Visitation will be Friday, July 12 at 3 to 7 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goliad. A rosary will begin at 7 p.m. at the church.

Mass will be Saturday, July 13 at 1 p.m. at the church with Father Ralph Baidoo. Services under the direction of Grace Funeral Home Goliad, 361 645-3216.
