Gavino was the owner of Power Auto in Refugio for more than 36 years.
He was born on April 18, 1936, to Brijado and Alaniz Quintanilla in Cotulla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, and a granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife Librada “Lilly” Quintanilla of Refugio; three daughters, Yolanda (David V). Ortiz of Kyle, Anna Marie Quintanilla of Refugio, and Consuelo (Abel L.) Quintanilla Garcia of Refugio; two sons, Gavino Quintanilla, Jr. of San Antonio, and Relles “Ray” Quintanilla of Refugio; four sisters, Maria Santos Gomez of San Antonio, Christina Gonzales of Kenosha, Wis., Innocencia Reyna of Garland and Josephine Quintanilla of San Antonio; two brothers Gilberto Quintanilla and Benito Quintanilla, both of San Antonio; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A rosary was recited Monday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church.
Pallbearers were Anthony Quintanilla,Luke Lopez, Daniel Quintanilla, Gabe Quintanilla, Carlos Quintanilla and Travis Quintanilla.
Honorary pallbearer was Demetrie Lee Garcia.
Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Refugio.
