John was a warm hearted person with a kind and gentle heart. He was always helping others and enjoyed life to its fullest. Some of John’s hobbies were spending quality time with his family, friends, playing pool and enjoyed watching the Texas Longhorns. John was one of Beeville’s pioneers in the Window tinting industry. His professionalism in this field will always be remembered.
John is survived by his mother, Ramona G. Montez; one son, Trey Jonathan Montez; one sister, Marla (Telesforo III) Gomez; and his paternal grandmother, Ofelia Montez; one nephew, T.J. Gomez; and one niece, Tlyssa Gomez all of Beeville, Texas.
John was preceded in the death by his father, Mr. Antonio “Pecas” Montez and by his grandparents, Daniel and Maria Garcia, Antonio Montez Sr..
Public visitation was held on Sunday, December 9, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary conducted that evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass was celebrated on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed at the Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Daniel Paul Fernandez, John Contreras, Alfredo Rendon Jr., Ray Alvarado, Lee Roy Barrera and Richard Cantu. Honorary pallbearers were Trey Montez, T.J. Gomez, Wallace Guerrero, Alfred Salinas and Ruben Alvarado.
