REFUGIO — After dropping season opener to Taft 25-21, 17-25, 21-25, 21-25 the Lady Cats rebounded to win their next three. The Lady Cats defeated Mathis for their first home game 25-13, 25-11, 25-10. They traveled to Orange Grove over the weekend to compete against the Lady Bulldogs and the Woodsboro Lady Eagles.

First match was against Orange Grove which the Cats won 25-15, 25-15, 24-26, 25-22 and turned right around and defeated Woodsboro 25-10, 25-15, 25-22.

Lexy Hawthorne led with 23 assists and Lacey Sanders contributed one.

Jackie Gonzalez and Irene Gallegos had 2 aces each, Cecilia Bauer and Marcela Leal 1 each.

Michelle Rosas with 10 kills, Jackie Gonzalez and Cecilia Bauer 5 each, Kiasha Brown and Lexy Hawthorne 4 each, Marcela Leal, Paige Wiginton and Block-Paige Wiginton 1each.

Irene Gallegos led with 10 digs, Michelle Rosas contributed 8, Marcela Leal and Lacey Sanders 5 each, Paige Wiginton 2, Jackie Gonzalez and Lexy Hawthorne 1 each.
