Lady Cats tied for first in 31-2A

REFUGIO — The Refugio Lady Cats won a 4-0 match against the San Diego Vaqueros Tuesday evening.

“The Lady Cats fought a hard battle,” said coach David Cruhm, softball coach.

The Lady Cats relied on some clutch hitting by Jackie Gonzalez, Priscilla Lara and Michelle Rosas to seal the victory, Cruhm said.

“Four runs was plenty of offensive support pitcher Chelsea Lara needed,” Cruhm said.

Chelsea struck out 12 batters while giving up only 4 hits.

The Lady Cats are 8-1 in district play and are tied for first place in district 31-2A.

Refugio will host Freer tonight (Thursday, April 5) at 6 p.m.
