YORKTOWN — The Lady Eagle varsity basketball team took care of business as usual on Friday night as they defeated the Kittens 48-27.

“Even though the outcome of Friday’s game didn’t matter for us because we were second in district no matter what, it was still an important win,” said Lady Eagle head coach Sunny DeCamp.

The balanced scoring attack for the Lady Eagles was led by Randi Arrisola and Destiny Carrillo. Both players hit for 12 points in the win.

“It was a full team effort with points spread across the board and our defense was hot,” DeCamp said.

The Lady Eagles stand at 8-1 in district play and had one contest left on the schedule as of Monday. The Falls City Beaverettes paid a visit to Pettus on Tuesday in the regular season finale.

The postseason games begin next week, and the Lady Eagles are set to play the Ganado Indians on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Port Lavaca in the opening bi-district round.

“We saw them in pre-season, so we have an advantage and we are coming in as the underdogs, which could also play to our benefit,” DeCamp said.
