Culpepper retired after 30 years in the oilfield, where he worked for Hallibur-ton and Maverick Trucking. He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
He was born Feb. 28, 1948, in Floresville to Leland and Leara Jean Beicker Culpepper.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Darrel Culpepper; and his nephew, Jimmie Culpepper.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Judy A. Culpepper; one daughter, Carol Jean (John) Crawford of Victoria; one son, Kevin Culpepper of Victoria; three sisters, Carol Culpepper of Tivoli, Linda O’Riley (Charlie) of College Station and Rebecca “Becky” Espinosa (John) of Woodsboro; three brothers, Larry’s twin, Jimmie “JC” Culpepper of Woodsboro, Theodore “Teddy” Culpepper of Tivoli, Gene “Pumpkin” Culpepper of Dilly; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at the Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Victoria with the Rev. Mickey Ewing officiating.
