Mrs. Matocha was born June 7, 1945, in Edna to Reinhardt and Carrie Jo (Marshall) Gibson. She, along with her husband, owned and operated JNL Propane in Sinton for more than 23 years. She was a former member of the Sinton Band Boosters, Garden Club and 4-H.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her husband, Joe J. Matocha of Sinton; her mother, Carrie Jo Gibson of Corpus Christi; four sons, Joseph J. Matocha Jr. and Daniel (Denise) Matocha, both of Sinton, and Patrick Matocha and Brian Matocha, both of Houston; a brother, Ricky (Patti) Gibson of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Miranda, Zachary, Kayleigh and Rileigh Matocha; and brothers-in-law, John (Margaret) Matocha and George Matocha, both of Beeville.
Visitation was held Monday, Nov. 12, beginning at 4 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home in Sinton. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Sinton with Father Paul Rajareegam officiating. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Beeville.
Pallbearers were Joseph J. Matocha Jr., Daniel Matocha, Patrick Matocha, Brian Matocha, Matt Matocha and Ricky Gibson.
Family friend Sharon Corpstein provided a luncheon for the family and their guests.
Arrangements were under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton.
