Mrs. Maldonado was born in Tynan on Dec. 24, 1924, to Antonio Garza and Estella Silva. She lived most of her life in Corpus Christi where she met and married Rudy P. Maldonado.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rudy P. Maldonado Sr.; sons, Rudy Jr. and Ramsey; her parents, Antonio and Estella Garza; brothers, Pete and Valentine Garza; sisters, Florence Marzola and Zulema Chavez.
Survivors include a son, Randy (Yvette) Maldonado of Corpus Christi; daughters, Helen (Mike) Troutman of George West; Gloria (Mike) Garcia of Houston; Ella Maldonando of Pflugerville; Belinda (John) Garcia of Mission; daughter-in-law, Chris V. Maldonado of Corpus Christi; brothers, Marin (Eva) Garza, Tony ( Janie) Garza, Ruben (Alicia) Garza, Joe (Soveida) Garza and Ray (Yolanda) Garza; sisters, Adela (Harry) Coursey; Gloria (Ruben) Soto; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Guardian Funeral Home with a rosary recited that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Corpus Christi. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were grandsons Michael and Philipp Troutman, John Gilbert Rocha, Matthew Martinez, John Glenn Garcia; and great-grandson, Cole Troutman.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike Troutman, Mike Garcia and John Garcia.
Arrangements were under the direction of Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel in Beeville and Guardian Funeral Home, Corpus Christi.
