BEEVILLE — A recent drug raid on a manufactured home in the 800 block of South Tyler Street took between 50 and 60 pipes and bongs off the street last Sunday.

Police Chief Joe Treviño said his officers started investigating the occupants of the trailer when neighbors began complaining about increased traffic and visitors at the home.

The chief said that was followed by a tip called into the Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers hotline.

Officers spent a couple of weeks looking into the activity before obtaining a search warrant and organizing a raid on the residence. Treviño said members of the Beeville Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team joined narcotics investigators and they moved on the trailer at 1:23 a.m.

Inside the officers found less then two ounces of marijuana along with a large supply of paraphernalia.

Those arrested included 41-year-old Jewitt Ingram, 20-year-old Bryce Ingram and 25-year-old Rigel Vargas.

The three suspects were charged with possession of marijuana, less then two ounces, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

“Hopefully that’ll send a message,” the chief said.

“We don’t care if you’re dealing small time or big time. We’re going to do something about it,” one of the BPD’s narcotics investigators commented. “All departments will come together to assist.

“If residents ask us for help, we’re going to do something about it,” Treviño added.

The possession charges are Class B misdemeanors and a conviction on them could result in $2,000 fines and six months in the county jail.

The paraphernalia charges are Class C misdemeanors. If convicted, each suspect could be fined $500.

Bonds were set at $200 on each of the suspects on the marijuana charges and at $500 on each on the possession of paraphernalia charges.
