She was the last of six daughters born to Thomas Oscar and Mary Sarah Craven May on Oct. 24, 1924, in Blanconia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lowell L. Hawkins, second husband George Warnken, her sisters, Marjorie Daley, Allie Harper,Connie Teddar,Doris Harrington, Rosalie Miles, granddaughter, Cheryl Leck and nephew, Eddie Miles.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandy and husband Johnny Harrison of Victoria; one son, Donald Wayne Hawkins and wife Judy of Houston; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Blanconia. Graveside services were conducted at Glendale Cemetery in Goliad.
Pallbearers were Glenn Hawkins, Joel Hawkins, John Harrison, Kevin Harrison, Kyle Harrison and Garrett Harrison.
Honorary pallbearers were Chaplain Lyman Mereness and Carl Schneider of Crown Hospice, caregivers of Texan West Nursing Home of Victoria, and Nancy’s beloved “Iris.”
