Mr. Ambriz was born on Sept. 14, 1926, in Lyford to Evaristo and Maria Ozuna Ambriz. He married Evangelina Longoria on Sept. 7, 1957, in Levelland and was a retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Manuel and Eustolio; and four sisters, Consuelo, Juana, Esperanza and Guadalupe.
Survivors include three daughters, Priscilla Ambriz of Beeville, Jaqueline Dena (Rene) Garcia of Victoria and Elma Alvarez of Houston; two sons, Robert (Judy) Alvarez of Oceanside, Calif., and Ernest (Rachel) Alvarez of Aurora, Ill.; one sister, Rebecca Fuentes of Raymondville; eight-grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating.
Pallbearers were Abelardo Ambriz, Adan Garcia, Eustolio Ambriz Jr., Raul Flores, Ruben Ahumada and Perfecto Ambriz.
