Beeville was well represented by these young athletes bringing home several ribbons for placing at the big meet, according to summer track coach Linda Luna.
Derrick Carroll placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.78 in the Intermediate division. In the 100-meter dash competition in the Sub-Youth group, Donyvan Givens placed first on the boys’ side. For the girls, Haley Sharp captured third place and Mikayla Aguirre earned a fourth place ribbon as did Samantha Manzano. Riana Perez placed fifth and Ariana Gonzales placed sixth.
Justice Estrada was third in the 100-meter dash at the Intermediate level. Kyle Villarreal was fifth.
In the 400-meter dash in the Sub-Youth division, Beeville’s Kelsey Gutierrez placed fifth in 1:21. Derrick Carroll was fourth in 61.6 and Robert Brush came in sixth at the Intermediate group competition.
Givens was fifth in the 200-meter dash in the Sub-Youth competition. For the girls, Kelsey Gutierrez placed second in the event while Mikayla Aguirre was fourth. Samantha Manzano captured a fifth place ribbon as did Haley Sharp.
At the Intermediate level 200-meter event, Justice Estrada was second at 24.7. Kyle Villarreal placed third in 30.5 and Robert Brush finished fourth.
In the Sub-Youth long jump, Haley Sharp placed fourth with a leap of 11-9.5 and Makayla Aguirre was fifth at 10-2. Donyvan Givens placed first for the Beeville boys with a leap of 14-10. Justice Estrada captured fourth in the long jump at the Intermediate level with a jump of 19-0. Robert Brush placed sixth at 14-7.
In the shot put competition at the Sub-Youth level, Valery Puente placed second with a toss of 22-1. Samantha Manzano was close back in third at 21-4. Riana Perez placed sixth at 20-9.5.
The next meet for the older athletes is today (Saturday) at Sinton High School.
