On behalf of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 929, the VFW Post 9170, the American Legion Chapter 274, the Iraq-Afghanistan veterans of Bee County and all the veterans who have served our country with great pride and honor, I would like to sincerely thank all of you from Bee and the surrounding communities for the tremendous show of support of the belated but much needed “Parade That Never Was.”

I would like to thank the 40 plus volunteers who helped coordinate the event. Without your tireless efforts, we could not have pulled this off. To all those who provided the financing and kind support, we sincerely appreciate your generosity. And to all those who showed up to watch the parade and express your gratefulness for our vets, we are honored. It was those signs on the side of the road, the shouts of love and the signs of gratitude that provided the healing and the closure that has long been overdue.

For every one veteran who didn’t feel like they needed this, there were hundreds more who did. It was for those that this was intended. Our hopes are that this will be carried on by others so that someday all of our veterans will be welcomed home as they so deserve to be.

Thank you again to all. There are too many to list, but you know who you are, and you can feel proud that you helped in the healing process of those who protect our rights to live in this great country.

You can see photos of this event on our Facebook page at Veterans.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God bless Bee County and God bless the United States of America.

AECS Armando Musquez, USN Ret.
