St. Mary’s Academy Charter School student Marc Garcia reads to Mini, a pony playing the part of Little Black, during the Horse Tales Literacy Program about noon Wednesday. Garcia, along with his fellow students and other first graders from R.A. Hall Elementary each received their own copies of Little Black a Pony and Little Black Goes to the Circus. Members of the Star of Texas Arabian Horse Club volunteered their time to teach the children not only about horses but also to encourage them to read.
