I was in Refugio just before Christmas and as is my habit, drove around town, reminiscing about days and people long gone, but still fresh in my memory.
As I meandered about, my path took me by Bobcat Stadium (now Jack Sportsman Stadium), and I saw two young boys tossing a football back and fourth. They told me that Coach Herring was probably in his office, as they could see his pick-up.
On a lank, I knocked on the door and went inside. I told Coaches Herring, Heryford, and Cox (who were studying film for the 2013 season), who I was, and that I had played on that field a long time ago. They treated me as if I were family and gave me a tour of the facilities.
Long story short...Christmas came early for me. Refugio has great coaches who serve you well. I’m glad I had the opportunity to find out for myself...
