ROCKPORT – The Rockport Writers Group and the Estelle Stair Gallery featured the works of 10 local authors at the second annual RWG Roundup event on Saturday, June 15, in Rockport.

The event was attended by about 50 people from the four-county Coastal Bend area.

The 10 writers each read a short excerpt from their most recent work. Refugio County was represented by C. Herndon Williams of Bayside, who read from “True Tales of the Texas Frontier, Eight Centuries of Adventure and Surprise,” published this month.

Other authors were Pat Chapman, Woody Davis, Devorah Fox, John Howell, Joan Issacs, Roger Larimore, Kathleen Monju, Mary Wallace and Rita Wendell.

Each presented excerpts from their own works, ranging from the autobiographical, historical, humorous, thriller and fanciful to the macabre.

Kay Butzin, RWG president, was the commentator.

The sponsors included Custom Printing Company and A Wine of Mine.

Many of these works will continue to be available for sale at the Estelle Stair Gallery.

The Rockport Writers Group meets monthly at the library in Rockport to collaborate on writing skills.
