S-T Lady Cats garner postseason volleyball awards

SKIDMORE — The Skidmore-Tynan Lady Cat varsity volleyball team finished the year at 11-19 overall and 5-9 in district play. The S-T girls earned several spots on the postseason all-district teams.

The district coaches selected hitter Amber Hughlett to the first team for her fine season for the Lady Cats. Hughlett led the team in kills and in blocks this year.

Emily Salinas was named to the second team for the district along with Amy Berthold. Earning honorable mention status for the S-T girls were Isabel Jimenez, Mari Martinez and Dolores Jimenez.

Berthold, Martinez, Isabel and Dolores Jimenez will all be back next year for head coach Tim Stowe.

The Lady Cats also collected several places on the Academic All-District squad.

Khelsey Corrigan, Hughlett, Kaitlyn Hudson, Salinas, Berthold, Haley Scott, Sydney Baker and Charli Perron made the distinguished student/athlete list of achievement by maintaining a 90 plus average in their classroom work along with being in good standing and competing on the volleyball court.
