Texas Farm Bureau invests large amounts of money and time in developing youth leadership. Annually, scholarships totaling almost $80,000 are awarded to students who participate in our youth contests, various youth leadership organizations or apply for several other scholarships that are made available.

The applicant must be a Texas Farm Bureau member or a member of a Texas Farm Bureau family.

Many county Farm Bureaus also offer scholarships to youth within their county. Annually, more than $100,000 in scholarships is given through county Farm Bureaus.

TFB offers the following scholarships:

TFB District Scholarship Program- Each district may award one $1,200 and three $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors. Recipients must have completed a community project to promote Farm bureau and/or agriculture.

TFB Young Farmer and Rancher Scholarship Program- Each district may award one $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior intending to pursue a career in agriculture.

TFB Young Farmer and Rancher Scholarship for Enrolled College Agriculture Students- Three Young Farmer and Rancher Scholarships for Enrolled College Agriculture Students of $2,000 each will be presented to college students pursuing degrees in agriculture.

Dick Mitchell Scholarship- The Dick Mitchell Scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to one high school junior or senior who has attended TFB’s Youth Leadership Conference.

Guidelines for each scholarship program vary. All recipients must come from a Farm Bureau member family.
