Students competed in art, speaking, reading, writing, math, science and social studies events with points awarded for first through sixth place. Skidmore-Tynan Junior High students amassed a total of 1,140 points, besting the second place district by more than 500 points.
Districts participating in the competition were Freer, San Diego, Banquete, George West, Taft, Odem, Mathis and Skidmore.
The combined effort of all of the young Bobcats and Lady Cats brought first place home for the fifth year in a row. An awards assembly will be held on Friday, Feb. 15, to recognize the students’ accomplishments.
