Six teams with vie for top honors. The winners of the tournament will be announced that night at a dance at the Refugio City Hall from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The Meza Band, of Taft, and the Randy Garcia band will take turns playing through the evening. Admission is $5.
The festival will get underway the following day, Sunday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A plate of 1/2 home-cooked chicken, sausage, German potatoes, pinto beans, trimmings, dessert and tea will be sold for $6 pre-sale or $7 at the door.
Also, food will be provided outside at food and drink booths.
The silent auction, and the Sweet Shoppe will open at 11 a.m.
The cake walk and live auction will start at 1 p.m., and the raffle winners will be drawn during the auction.
There will be a Country Store, Plant Stand, and various free children’s games of all types, including a moon walk and a water slide.
The Meza Band will be back to entertain the crowd all afternoon. For tickets or more information, call 543-4166.
