Throughout the day, they attended breakout sessions given by surrounding area high school student council members, including members from Carroll, Ray and Flour Bluff High Schools. The sessions emphasized what it means to lead and learn through serving. In addition, students were shown ways to improve schools through civility.
There were two incredible guest speakers, Cande DeLeon from the Diocese of Corpus Christi and Lilliana Mancillas, reigning Miss Teen Texas 2012. Both gave amazing speeches on servant leadership and how it impacts not only our lives but everyone around us.
“We are excited to start putting our ideas into action and hope to have all members attend the spring convention in March,” said student council sponsor Stella Resio.
