Taylor returns to begin law career in Goliad

GOLIAD – Ashford Taylor is pleased to be back in Goliad.

Taylor, who attended Goliad ISD through 11th grade and graduated from Pettus High School in 2003, recently joined the local Steven G. Paulsgrove law firm.

“This has been a dream of mine since a young age,” the 28-year-old Taylor said. “I want to help people with the biggest things going on in their lives.”

Taylor, who is Paulsgrove’s nephew, started as a clerk at the firm in August and began practicing Nov. 12.

Taylor earned a bachelors degree in business administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2007. He entered a career in sales before returning to school in 2009 at South Texas College of Law in Houston.

Taylor said he will be handling estate planning, business formations, probate, and oil and gas cases.

Paulsgrove, who has practiced law in Goliad for 35 years, said he is happy to

“It’s a dream come true for me, too. When you’ve worked on something all your life and you’ve developed a bit of a legacy, to see it continue on is exciting.”

“There’s no better opportunity I can imagine,” Taylor said of working for Paulsgrove. “He is highly respected.”

Paulsgrove said his son, Jamison Horny, will be taking his bar exam soon and is expected to join the Goliad firm.

“For me, it’s exciting to have someone young and energized,” Paulsgrove said. “It has me recharged all over again.”
